The much-expected national carrier would be
unveiled before the end of the year.
This was disclosed weekend in Abuja by the
Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Oduah while
speaking at the Aviation Workers Awards Night
organized by Joint Consultative and Negotiating
Council, JCNC as part of activities to mark the
Aviation workers week.
The Aviation Minister further said that when the
newly designed aerotropolis project is completed, it
would provide jobs for at least 150, 000 Nigerians.
Oduah explained that the project is designed to offer
businesses located near or having good access to
the airport with speedy connectivity to their
suppliers, customers and enterprise partners
nationally and worldwide.
She further stated that the aerotropolis would
contain a full set of commercial facilities that
support airlines and aviation-linked businesses as
well as millions of business and leisure travelers
who pass through the airport annually.
Responding to the demands of the aviation workers
to be accommodated in the execution of project, the
Minister assured them that their housing needs
would be catered for within the aerotropolis adding
that they would also be given a well-deserved
welfare package.
Said she: “As a Ministry which supervises aviation
parastatals and agencies, you deserve to also go
for training like those working in the agencies you
are supervising”.
